Jordan News Agency launches updated website on Jordan’s Independence Day

Amman, May 25 (Petra) – The Jordan News Agency (Petra) Thursday launched its updated website on Jordan’s celebrations of its 77th Independence Day.

Petra’s staff and engineers updated the sixth version of Petra’s website since its launch in 1997 as part of the Agency’s plan to keep abreast of the rapid developments in IT and its keenness to provide a user-friendly website.

The latest version would improve the performance and browsing experience on the website. It would allow easier and faster access to archived news and support downloading high-quality photos, videos and infographics.

The website developers promised better access to ratings and news windows and access to other agency platforms on social networks. The website would also be more secure.

The updated smartphone version would allow easy browsing, reading and switching between its categories and portals and offer multiple options for browsing daily and weekly news lists.

Petra Director-General Fayrouz Mobaideen noted “the Agency’s keenness to continue updating and developing all its platforms and accounts on the Internet to reach the largest possible number of visitors and followers inside and outside the Kingdom.”

Mobaideen talked about Petra’s work to “communicate with its partners to realise the agency’s aspirations and hopes towards a modern national media that keeps pace with what the Kingdom is witnessing in terms of continued development in all scopes.”

She added that developing the Agency’s official website and its various platforms on the Internet keeps pace with what Petra is witnessing in increasing its daily news product and news diversity.
