Seven Injured, Three Others Detained in Israeli Raids and Settler Rampages Across West Bank

Occupied Jerusalem, May 24 (QNA) – Seven Palestinians were injured on Saturday, among them three were shot, while three others were detained during incursions and rampages carried out by Israeli occupation soldiers in multiple parts across the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported that a young Palestinian was shot in his abdomen and hand after occupation soldiers raided the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron.

Meanwhile, two Palestinians were wounded by live rounds after Israeli forces raided the town of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, firing live ammunition as well as tear gas and sound flash-bang grenades at residents.
In the governorate of Salfit, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian from the town of Bruqin. They also arrested two child siblings from the village of Al-Mughayyir after storming the village and raiding their home. They also closed its western entrance, concurrently as settlers raided the western plain area of the village.

In the governorate of Nablus, Israeli forces swept through the village of Awarta, raided several homes, searched them, ransacked their contents, and detained residents.

Israeli forces also hunted down several workers in the area of Wadi Al-Hummus, east of Bethlehem, and fired tear gas and sound flash-bang grenades at them, with no reported injuries.

In Masafer Yatta, four Palestinians were injured, incurring bruises as well as cases of asphyxiation after settlers carried out an attack using stones, clubs, and pepper spray against residents in the area of Wadi al-Rakhim. Their injuries were described as moderate.

In addition, settlers conducted rampages and attacked Palestinian homes in Khallat Al-Nahla near the village of Wadi Rahhal, south of Bethlehem, without any reported injuries.
This comes hours after a similar attack in the Abu Njeim area, southeast of Bethlehem, which resulted in a Palestinian sustaining bruise.

The occupation forces and settlers carried out 1,637 attacks during last April against Palestinians and their property, including 1,097 attacks launched by the occupation forces and 540 attacks by settlers, mostly in the governorates of Nablus, Hebron, Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and Bethlehem, the Palestinian Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission reported.

The West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, has been experiencing persistent escalation in raids, detentions, and attacks by Israeli occupation forces and settlers.
These assaults are carried out concomitantly with the occupation’s breach of the non-aggression deal against the Gaza Strip, continuing unabated through unleashing raids and attacks on multiple parts of the enclave. (QNA)
