5.5 billion dollars in profits for Qatari banks until the end of the third quarter of the year

Doha, November 13 (Petra) – Qatari banks recorded net profits of about 20 billion riyals (5.5 billion dollars) during the first nine months of this year.
According to statistical data, reported by the Qatar Stock Exchange website today, Qatari banks achieved a growth in their profits during the last period by 8.7 percent, compared to 18.3 billion riyals ($ 5 billion) during the corresponding period of the year 2021.
Qatar National Bank, which owns about 35 percent of the Housing Bank, topped the list of the most profitable banks, accounting for 55 percent of the banks’ total profits, while Qatar Islamic Bank ranked first in terms of profit growth by 12.9 percent.
The net profit of Qatar National Bank increased by 7 percent in the first nine months of this year, to reach 11 billion riyals, compared to 10.3 billion riyals in the same period in 2021.
Qatar Islamic Bank achieved a net profit of 2.85 billion riyals for the nine-month period ending on September 30, achieving a growth of 12.9 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
