Assistant Undersecretary to QNA, MOEHE Aims at Providing Quality Education to All

Doha, January 24 (QNA) – The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) affirmed its eagerness on achieving the goals sought by the International Day of Education, which calls on all countries to work together towards transforming into sustainable societies, improving the quality of education in all of its stages, and providing appropriate quality-education opportunities for all.

Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MOEHE Maha Al Ruwaili said in an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the International Day of Education, that the ministry develops educational programs from the pre-university stage all the way to university education. She added that MOEHE worked on providing various alternatives for general education tracks, offering specialized and adult learners educational, whilst not overlooking students with disabilities and talented students.

Al Ruwaili stressed that the State of Qatar has sought under the directives of its wise leadership to invest in people, considering education a public responsibility, based on its belief that education plays an important role in helping citizens make the best use of their energies and capabilities, thus making education one of the determinants of productivity for Qatari society.

She noted that all these efforts culminated in the State of Qatar making it on advance quality indexes of Arab and international educational institutions, stressing that MOEHE’s is on a path of making quality education accessible to all, as well as turning schools into beacons of knowledge and science and accomplishing distinguished achievements in education.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs considered the International Day of Education, launched by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and celebrated on January 24 every year, a clear message to all parts of the world about the importance of education, constituting a cornerstone for the advancement of societies and the best and main way to achieve sustainable development.

She noted that this day promotes the principle that education is a right for all, a basic need for every individual, and the most important building block for the development and progress of any country and on any front.

The United Nations Secretary-General has affirmed that education is a basic human right, and that it is the cornerstone of societies, economies, and the potential of every person, urging civil society and the youth to continue calling for increased and better investment in quality education.

In a message to the world on this occasion, he pointed out that last year’s Transforming Education Summit brought the entire world together to reconsider education systems, so that every learner can obtain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. (QNA)
