Cabinet issues a slew of decisions

Amman, Mar. 19 (Petra)–A Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, on Sunday decided to approve the mandating reasons for the draft Electronic Record Bylaw for Financial Disclosure Department (FDD) for 2023.

The system comes in implementation of provisions of Illegal Gain Law No. (21) of 2014 and its amendments, and seeks to launch an electronic record at FDD, aimed to regulate all related affairs and enable taxpayers who wish to submit their financial disclosure statements electronically.

The Cabinet also approved the validating reasons for bylaw of centers and institutes at the German-Jordanian University (GJU) for 2023, aimed to enable it to establish these facilities to serve the educational, teaching and research process and productive and economic sectors, within the standards of quality assurance in this regard.

In addition, the Cabinet agreed to extend its previous decision related to approving the bulletin issued and okayed by the Jordan Shipping Association (JSA) on regulation of allowances for maritime agents’ services.

Under the decision, this sector’s agents and marine lines are banned from holding shipping containers until the date of 30/ 4/2023.

The decision also aims to contribute to stability of commodity prices in the local market, especially during the holy month of Ramadan and assigned Minister of Public Works and Housing and the Minister of Transport to supervise implementation of its provisions.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers decided to designate June 27 each year as the “Jordanian Antiquities Day,” in celebration of the centenary of the Emiri Decree establishing Department of Public Antiquities, which was issued on June 27, 1923.

On this day, Jordanian visitors will be exempted from entry fees to the Kingdom’s archaeological sites and museums, and awareness campaigns will be launched to preserve Jordan’s cultural heritage, as well as initiatives to clean archaeological and tourist sites across the the Kingdom.
