Cold weather forecast in highlands, pleasant in other regions

Amman, Jan. 25 (Petra) — Relatively cold weather conditions are expected to prevail on Wednesday in the highlands, while it will be pleasant in other regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Clouds at various altitudes are also forecast to form, with a chance for light showers of rain in limited parts of the northeastern Badia region, the JMD added.

Similar fair conditions will remain on Thursday, with southeasterly moderate winds, the JMD noted.

On Friday, a slight rise in temperatures is forecast, becoming 5-7 degrees above their annual average and bringing pleasant weather conditions in much of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba where it will be relatively warm, the JMD predicted.

Temperatures in the capital Amman today will range between a high of 17 degrees Celsius and a low of 4C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 25C, sliding to 13C at night.
