FM, Tunisian counterpart discuss ties

Amman, Mar 24 (Petra)– Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi today made a phone call with his Tunisian counterpart Nabil Ammar, and congratulated him on assuming his new position as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad.

The two ministers reviewed the solid and historical relations between the two countries, and expressed joint keenness to enhance broader cooperation in various fields.

They also discussed regional and international issues, including the Palestinian cause, and efforts to resolve crises in the region.

Safadi and Ammar said they look forward to working together to develop relations between the two countries.

The two ministers discussed holding the third session of the Political Thinking and Consultation Committee in Amman, prior to the tenth round of the joint Jordan-Tunisia Higher Committee before year end.

The two ministers warned of the seriousness of the extremist racist ideology, expressed by the Israeli Minister of Finance, in which he denied the existence of the brotherly Palestinian people and their historical rights from a platform carrying an alleged map of Israel that includes the occupied state of Palestine and Jordan.

The two ministers condemned these inflammatory statements and stances, and urged the international community to denounce them.

The two ministers exchanged Ramadan whishes.
