House  delegation learns about Moroccan parliament’s tech integration

Amman, May 24 (Petra)–The high-level Parliamentary Working Group on Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation in the Arab Parliament checked on Morocco’s experience in the field of digitizing parliamentary activities.

During a visit to Morocco’s Parliament, the group’s chief, MP Khaled Abu Hassan, who heads the Jordanian Lower House delegation, said the visit mainly aims to examine efforts of the Moroccan parliament in integrating information technology and digital transformation in developing parliamentary activities.

Abu Hassan added that talks with Moroccan parliamentarians focused on importance of digitizing parliamentary work in its various stages and levels, and transferring the experience to other Arab parliaments.

Talks also touched on the key recommendations and outcomes of the 2nd Rabat meeting and issues of common interest, primarily artificial intelligence and information security, according to Abu Hassan, who lauded Morocco’s “remarkable” progress in digital transformation.

The lawmaker stressed importance of continuous cooperation to serve Arab countries’ interests and support their digital transformation process.

On the sidelines of the visit, the parliamentary delegation met with Speakers of Moroccan House of Representatives and Councillors, lauding Morocco’s “pioneering” experience in the technology field in various fields.

Abu Hassan said this meeting reflects Arab parliaments’ keenness to keep pace with technological developments and exchange expertise.
