NNA – Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, stressed on Monday that the only hope for Lebanon lies in the election of a President of the Republic.
Caretaker Minister Makary’s words came at a press gathering at the invitation of the Head of the Episcopal Commission for media outlets, Bishop Antoine Nabil Andari, held at the Catholic Information Center in Jal El Dib, entitled, "The Role of Media and Communication Networks in Building Culture of Peace.”
Minister Makary underlined the importance of building a culture of peace that develops minds and builds the homelands, away from hate speech and the rhetoric of incitement and provoking instincts that only breed wars and destruction.
Makary called for preserving freedom from any abuse, emphasizing that "freedom is a value that we must preserve from all misuse,” highlighting the important role of an aware and responsible media.
