
Riyadh, September 14, 2023, SPA — Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef headed the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the meetings of the 65th Trade Cooperation Committee and the 51st Industrial Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which were held in Salalah, Oman, today, in the presence of the Ministers of Industry and Trade of the GCC countries, and the GCC Secretary General, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi.
The 51st Industrial Cooperation Committee meeting discussed several topics, including the executive regulation of the unified industrial organization law, amended controls on exempting industry inputs from customs duties and taxes, and a proposal by the GCC secretariat to establish an electronic information platform on Gulf industrial projects.
Alkhorayef also participated in the 65th meeting of the Trade Cooperation Committee on behalf of the Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi. The meeting touched on several important issues that aim to enhance aspects of cooperation between the GCC countries, including developments, negotiations of free trade agreements with countries and economic blocs, and the trade laws of the GCC countries, in addition to many other topics.
Furthermore, the minister participated in the consultative meeting of the Ministers of Trade and Industry and the heads of the GCC federations and chambers to discuss issues of interest to both sectors in GCC countries.
On the sidelines of the meeting in Salalah, the minister attended the opening of the first Gulf Industrial Exhibition, which aims to introduce Gulf products and encourage Saudi and Gulf companies and facilities working in the industrial sector.
