Ministerial Meeting Convenes in New York to Discuss Revitalizing the Middle East Peace Process

New York, September 18, 2023, SPA — Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired today the ministerial meeting to discuss efforts to revitalize the peace process in the Middle East on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboul Gheit; the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Sameh Shoukry; and the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.
The meeting was attended by representatives from nearly 70 countries and international organizations, and included around 50 speakers from diverse nations.
The discussions focused on mechanisms for coordinating collective efforts to advance the Middle East peace process.
Participants also discussed establishing political, economic, and humanitarian task forces to examine tangible measures and incentives that promote the revival of the Arab Peace Process.
