OIC Secretary General Meets Special Advisor on International Disability Rights at US Department of State

Jeddah, January 24, 2023, SPA — Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha, yesterday at his office, received Special Advisor on International Disability Rights at the US Department of State Sara Minkara.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways to coordinate and protect the human rights, inclusion, and full participation of persons with disabilities.
The secretary general highlighted the most important challenges facing people with disabilities, especially in developed and least developed countries in particular issues related to diversity, gender-lens, education, social integration, health and well-being, and employment.
For her part, Minkara affirmed her keenness on strengthening cooperation and coordination with the OIC General Secretariat and its institutions to support persons with disabilities.
