Saudi Billiards Player Al-Gamdi Wins Gold Medal in Arab Championship

Riyadh, May 25, 2023, SPA– Saudi billiards player Khaled Al-Ghamdi won the gold medal in the 10-ball competition for juniors Wednesday, the third day of the Arab Championship for Billiards and Snooker. The Championship is being hosted by the city of Riyadh until the end of May 2023, with the participation of 12 teams.
Al-Ghamdi won the gold medal after defeating his United Arab Emirates (UAE) counterpart 8-2.
President of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) Mubarak Al-Khayarin and the President of the Saudi Arabian Billiard and Snooker Federation, Dr. Nasser Al-Shammari, attended the final match. Al-Ghamdi reached the final match of the championship after being overtaken in the semi-finals by Bahraini Hussain Marom, who won the bronze, raising Al-Ghamdi’s tally to two medals, gold and silver.
In the competition of 9-ball doubles billiards, the Saudi national team qualified for the semi-finals along with the teams of Lebanon, Kuwait, and Iraq.
In the snooker competition, Saudi players Ayman Al-Omari and Ziyad Al-Qabbani qualified for the semi-finals of the junior singles category, which will be held tomorrow.
