Shura Council Holds its 18th Ordinary Session

Riyadh, January 24, 2023, SPA — The Shura Council held here today its 18th Ordinary Session of the 3rd year under the chairmanship of its Deputy Speaker, Dr. Mishal bin Fahm Al-Sulami.
During the session, the Shura Council discussed a number of draft memorandums of understanding and agreements. It approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the establishment of IMF regional office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and supporting the IMF in the field of capacity development.
It voted to approve a draft memorandum of understanding between the General Authority for Competition of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Competition Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of enhancing competition and combating monopolistic practices.
The Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Anti-Corruption Commission of the Kingdom of Thailand in the field of preventing and combating corruption.
The Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of South Africa for cooperation in the field of social development.
It approved a draft cooperation agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the field of combating crime.
The Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Morocco in the field of mutual recognition of halal certificates for local products.
In the same session, the Council voted to approve a draft cooperation agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of South Africa in the field of maritime transport.
The Shura Council voted to approve a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman in the field of tourism.
It also approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture of the United Mexican States for cooperation in the cultural field.
The Shura Council also discussed a number of issues on its agenda.
