‘Tashgeel’ provides employment for 15,858 people since April 2022

Amman, Jan. 25 (Petra) — A total of 15,858 people started new jobs through a government-sponsored program launched in April 2022 under agreements with 861 private-sector institutions.

According to the latest count obtained by (Petra) on Wednesday, 8,205 females and 7,652 males have been placed into jobs since the program’s launch, of which 562 females and 671 males are beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund.

The National Employment Program (Tashgheel) seeks to provide 60,000 job opportunities in accordance with the private sector’s demand.

The program has so far made 44,066 job openings available, while a total of 45,619 job-seekers registered for the program.

Under the scheme, a man or woman employed by a private sector entity will receive a JD130 monthly wage subsidy for a maximum of six months, provided that the employer offers the employee a one-year contract at least.

Moreover, the program also entails a JD10 contribution to the worker’s monthly social security premium and a similar amount as a transportation allowance for a maximum of 6 months.
