Africa Investment Forum Wraps Up in Marrakech

The three-day event, attended by some 10,000 high-level participants, examined the importance of promoting infrastructure investment and regional integration for Africa, as well as other issues.

The Forum’s brainstorming sessions were rich in debate, with contributions from heads of state and government, public and private decision-makers, and investors involved in the continent’s economic and social development.

Speaking on behalf of the Moroccan government, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, stressed that the Africa Investment Forum was an opportunity to explore opportunities, discuss challenges and solutions, and strengthen the partnerships needed to achieve the aspirations of the African continent.

“The topics addressed during the panels, namely accelerating Africa’s economic transformation, promoting responsible industrialization, the crucial importance of value chains, the transition to renewable energies and ways of mobilizing investment for transformative growth via capital markets, were at the heart of the discussions”, he noted.

“The Forum was also a true reflection of the diversity and richness of our continent. We saw exciting projects emerge, promising partnerships form, and innovative ideas come to fruition”, he said, adding that Africa has demonstrated that it is truly open to exchanges and ready to welcome investors from the four corners of the globe.
