Aqaba Hosts Workshop to Boost Tourism Ties with Egypt

Aqaba, November 17 (Petra) – The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), in collaboration with the Jordan Tourism Board and the Arab Airlines Company, organized a workshop on Sunday targeting tourism and travel agents and tour operators from Egypt, along with Aqaba-based tourism offices. The initiative aims to strengthen tourism cooperation between the two nations.

Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners and Commissioner for Economic Development and Tourism at the ASEZA, Hamza Haj Hassan, highlighted the Authority’s vital role in promoting Aqaba as a unique tourist destination in Jordan.

He emphasized the growing cooperation with Egypt in various tourism sectors, including sustainable tourism, adventure activities, marine sports, recreational culture, artistic and cultural events, exhibition and conference tourism, and shopping tourism.

The workshop featured a working session with representatives from Aqaba and Wadi Rum’s tourism sectors to plan joint promotional activities and events.

The Egyptian delegation consisted of 12 companies specializing in inbound tourism and several social media content creators focused on tourism and travel.
