Cool Weather Expected Across Most Regions with Rainfall in Northern Areas

Amman, Nov. 18 (Petra) — Jordan is currently affected by a relatively cold and humid air mass, accompanied by the extension of a low-pressure system centered over Turkey. As a result, temperatures are expected to drop noticeably on Monday, with weather conditions described as cool and partly to mostly cloudy across most regions.

The Jordan Meteorological Department predicts intermittent rain showers in northern areas and parts of the central region, which may be accompanied by thunder in northern areas. Winds are forecasted to be moderate from the west, occasionally becoming active.

In its report, the department cautioned against reduced visibility due to fog over high mountain areas and plains, as well as dust in the eastern parts of the country.

Similar conditions are expected on Tuesday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and cool temperatures across most areas. Intermittent rain is likely in northern Jordan and central and eastern regions, with possible thunderstorms and hail, especially in the north. Winds will remain moderate from the west, becoming active at intervals.

A slight rise in temperatures is anticipated on Wednesday, bringing mild weather to most regions and warmer conditions in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Low-altitude clouds are expected, with moderate southwesterly winds prevailing.

A further slight increase in temperatures is expected on Thursday. Mild weather will continue across most regions, with warm conditions in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds are likely, accompanied by moderate southwesterly winds.

Today’s temperatures are forecast to vary across different regions in Jordan. East Amman will experience a high of 18 C and a low of 10 C, while West Amman is expected to see temperatures ranging between 16 C and 8 C. In the northern highlands, the temperature will reach a high of 15 C and drop to 8 C, whereas the Sharah highlands will record a high of 14 C and a low of 6 C.
