Defense Ministry to Hold Air, Naval Shows to Mark 93rd National Day

Riyadh, September 20, 2023, SPA — Citizens and residents are gearing up for the national celebrations on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day.
The festivities will feature a military parade and aerial displays over the skies of various cities and regions in the Kingdom, showcasing pride in the Kingdom’s present and the achievements made in building the future under Saudi Vision 2030.
During the military parade in Riyadh, which is set to take place at 4:00 PM, will include a procession of military units and vehicles preceded by horses, accompanied by musical bands from the Saudi Royal Guard Presidency, the Ministry of National Guard, and the General Directorate of Border Guard.
The parade will commence from Prince Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz Road and conclude at Umm Ajlan Park in Al-Qirawan district, offering an opportunity to recall the nation’s accomplishments achieved during previous decades.
This year’s Saudi National Day celebrations, under the theme “We Dream and Achieve,” will feature a series of events. The highlight will be the “We’re Racing Dreams” aerial show, featuring both military and civilian aircraft, showcasing the Kingdom’s flag soaring in the skies over Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar. There will also be aerial displays in the cities of Taif, Al-Baha, Asir, and Tabuk on September 23.
Additionally, similar aerial shows will take place over the Eastern Corniche in Dammam, Al-Fanateer Corniche in Jubail, and the King Abdullah Environmental Park in Al-Ahsa on September 19.
Furthermore, the Northern Corniche in Jeddah will witness an aerial display on September 20, followed by another one over Al-Khobar Corniche on September 27.
Another aerial show will take place on September 30 around the King Saud Air Base in Hafr Al-Batin, concluding with a display on October 2 around the Al-Jouf Air Base.
The celebrations also include an event where military aircraft will accompany civilian aircraft, where Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) will participate with a Boeing 787, and Flynas will join with an Airbus A320 in three cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar.
The Royal Saudi Air Force will carry out displays with Typhoon, F-15S, Tornado, and F-15C aircraft in 13 cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al-Jouf, Jubail, Al-Ahsa, Taif, Al-Baha, Tabuk, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Al-Khobar, and Hafr Al-Batin.
The Saudi Falcons Aerobatic Team will present formations and air shows in the skies of several cities.
The Royal Saudi Navy will participate in naval parades and shows in the Eastern and Western Fleets next Saturday, when the Naval Forces in Jeddah will display maritime vessels and boats of the Special Marine Security Group, in addition to the helicopter air show, a military march with vehicles, another for riders and infantry, and a cavalry parade. Also, there will be an exhibition of military equipment and weapons.
Jubail-based Al Fanateer Beach will host an air show with helicopters, a parade with military vehicles and another for riders, free jumping with the Saudi flag, a marine boat parade, and a military skills faction, in addition to Saudi folklore shows and activities for children.
Various government and private entities are participating in the air shows, namely, the Presidency of the Royal Guard, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Guard, the Presidency of State Security, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Matarat Company, the Saudi Air Navigation Services Company (SANS), the Saudi Aviation Club (SAC), Saudi Arabian Airlines, Flynas, and Saudi Broadcasting Authority, which will air the National Day’s main show on television.
