Investment: Meeting in Silicon Valley with Moroccans living in America

This meeting took place following the High Directives given in the speech of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, in which the Sovereign called for the establishment of a positive, solid relationship and continues with Moroccans residing abroad, which will ensure their full participation in the development of their country, the ministry said.

During this meeting, the Minister-Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, spoke of the large-scale projects launched in Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty the King mainly in the fields of development, infrastructure and investments. 

He noted that the Kingdom has taken a big step forward towards further development thanks to a far-sighted and proactive royal vision, adding that the focus is now on sectors with high added value such as clean energy, green hydrogen and electric mobility. 

Jazouli also highlighted the role that the diaspora plays in promoting the image of the Kingdom internationally, while calling on Moroccans around the world to continue to contribute to the collective effort aimed at cimenting the foundations of a Morocco proud of its assets and people.

The meeting brought together more than 150 Moroccans active within large digital groups and information technologies, as well as in the fields of biotechnology and entrepreneurship, in addition to scientific and academic research. 

Talking about the international roadshow to promote the Moroccan as a destination for investments which were in Dallas, Austin and San Francisco and shall continue to Seattle, the Minister-Delegate indicated, in a statement to MAP, that this initiative aims at promoting the important assets that Morocco has and therefore attract new American investments. 

He noted that Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, is experiencing a historic momentum which reinforces the vocation of the Kingdom as a privileged destination for investments.

The Minister-Delegate also recalled the meetings that the Moroccan delegation had with several American decision-makers and economic operators, as well as the visits made to a number of companies, stressing that the objective of this tour is to strengthen the image of Morocco as an essential economic partner in Africa.

With regard to the Kingdom’s participation in the 16th USA-Africa business Summit which was held from May 6 to 9 in Dallas, the Minister-Delegate indicated that this event was an opportunity to examine the prospects for partnerships and cooperation which are sustainable and beneficial for Africa. 

Jazouli led a high-level delegation to this Summit initiated by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) under the theme “USA-Africa: a partnership for sustainable success”. 

For his part, the director general of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, Ali Seddiki, stressed that the meeting with members of the Moroccan community in the United States takes place following the High Royal Instructions which insist on the need to support and accompany the projects and initiatives of Moroccans around the world. 

The aim is to present the business opportunities that Morocco offers, particularly in terms of investment, as well as the incentives provided by the new investment charter, he indicated, adding that AMDIE is mobilized to support the investment projects of Moroccans around the world.

In Silicon Valley, in the southern part of San Francisco, the Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) held a meeting on Friday with members of the Moroccan community living in the United States.
