Amman, Nov. 24 (Petra) – The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), along with Jordanian entrepreneurs, participated in the Third Arab Entrepreneurship and SMEs Summit held recently in Doha. The summit was organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and Qatar Development Bank (QDB).
According to a JEDCO statement on Sunday, the corporation showcased its key achievements in supporting startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Jordan. It also highlighted its main programs aimed at empowering these businesses through financing, expansion opportunities, and fostering Arab, regional, and international partnerships.
JEDCO’s CEO, Abdul Fattah Al-Kayed, participated in a regional dialogue held on the sidelines of the summit, addressing the challenges facing the sector. He emphasized that Jordan, as part of its Economic Modernization Vision, has prioritized the growth of SMEs and self-employment initiatives.
Al-Kayed noted that the sector enjoys strong governmental support to identify optimal solutions for increasing its contribution to the national GDP.
