Amman, Nov. 30 (Petra) – The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) dispatched a new humanitarian aid convoy on Saturday to the people in the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, with the support of the World Food Program (WFP).
The convoy, according to a JHCO statement, consisted of 50 trucks loaded with food, medical, health supplies, and ready-to-eat meals, in addition to basic needs that would be delivered to the relevant authorities in the Gaza Strip to be distributed to the deserving beneficiaries.
The JHCO Secretary-General, Dr. Hussein Shebli, said these efforts come within the framework of the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Gaza people, stressing that Jordan will remain at the forefront of nations that back Gazans.
Shebli also noted the ongoing cooperation with various local and international partners to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to the Palestinian enclave.
To date, Shebli announced a total of number of 4,326 trucks entered the Gaza Strip, as well as 53 aircraft via EL Arish, while the JAF conducted 124 airdrops, as well as 266 airdrop operations, in cooperation with Arab and friendly countries, adding that 8 aid helicopters were also dispatched.
