Amman, November 27 (Petra) — Jordan and the UAE signed an executive programme for cooperation in higher education and scientific research in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Jordan’s Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research Azmi Mahafzah, and the UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdulrahman Al Awar signed the agreement.
The executive programme outlines key areas of cooperation, including the exchange of information on academic fields and educational systems, particularly in the equivalence of university and postgraduate degrees. This will facilitate the mutual recognition of degrees.
The agreement covers the exchange of systems for evaluating academic programmes and institutional accreditation. The two countries will collaborate on providing scholarships for undergraduate programmes based on available capacities and regulations.
The programme aims to promote initiatives encouraging students to apply for study in both countries, facilitate the opening of branches of Jordanian and Emirati higher education institutions and foster direct cooperation between institutions in various academic fields.
The agreement also emphasises the development of joint scientific research between the two nations.
