Lower House names committee to reply to Speech from the Throne

Amman, Nov 19 (Petra) — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said Tuesday that His Majesty King Abdullah II’s Speech from the Throne is a roadmap that steers the legislature in a collective endeavor to serve the higher national interest.

Safadi, chairing the first meeting of the chamber’s Permanent Office, expressed, in the name of all members of the house, his pride in and gratitude to the King for opening the first ordinary session of the 20th Jordanian parliament and delivering the Speech from the Throne.

The lawmakers named members of the committee to prepare the reply to the Speech from the Throne that will be passed to His Majesty.

The House also tackled priorities in the next stage as it aimed to perform a parliamentary job that is up to the expectations of Jordanians.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Speaker, Mustafa Khasawneh, Second Deputy Speaker Ahmsd Hamaisat, and Assistants to the Speaker Huda Naffaa and Mohammed Marie.
