Amman, Dec. 31 (Petra) – The Official Gazette published Tuesday a decision by the Trilateral Committee to raise the minimum wage to JD290, effective starting Wednesday.
The decision excluded companies and institutions operating in the garment sector due to the nature of their contractual relationships in local and international markets.
To ensure the competitiveness and efficiency of these companies in this sector, the committee decided to adopt the collective labor agreement signed between the Jordanian Association of Garment and Textile Exporters, the General Union of Owners of Knitting Factories, and the General Union of Workers in Textile, Weaving, and Clothing Industries (Leather and Garment Industries).
The decision also excluded (non-Jordanian domestic workers, their cooks, gardeners, and similar categories).
