Oman Guest of Honour at Riyadh International Book Fair 2023

Riyadh, September 21, 2023, SPA — The Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission is hosting the Sultanate of Oman as the guest of honour in the upcoming Riyadh International Book Fair 2023, which will be held from September 28 to October 7 at the campus of King Saud University. The Riyadh International Book Fair is held under the theme “An Inspiring Destination”.
Oman’s participation comes within the strong historical ties and fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly peoples as part of the joint efforts of the two countries to enhance cooperation in the cultural field. Oman’s pavilion will be located at the centre of the exhibition, where books, manuscripts, and various aspects of the Omani national culture will be presented. Additionally, many of Oman’s cultural icons and talents will attend the event, and Omani publishers will present their latest publications to the visitors.
The exhibition will take its visitors on an enjoyable knowledge journey through the participation of more than 1,800 publishing houses. The exhibition is also associated with enriching cultural programs, including dozens of activities suited to all age groups; seminars, poetry nights, international theatrical performances, concerts, workshops in different fields of knowledge, and various activities for children.
Moreover, the “International Publishers Conference” will accompany the exhibition and be held on October 4th to discuss various aspects of the book industry and the challenges faced by publishers. The conference aims to enhance opportunities for publishers to enter the copyright trading field and develop the publishing industry by adopting the highest quality standards and best international practices.
