Amman, November 20 (Petra) – over half a million vehicles received technical inspection during the winter road safety campaign and 85% passed the process “successfully,” Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced.
In a statement Wednesday, the directorate said the key technical defects were mainly detected in automotive lighting, braking systems, windshield wipers.
The PSD, in cooperation with the Kingdom’s competent authorities, , kicked off the preventive vehicle inspection bid on November 2 , the statement pointed out.
The PSD noted its patrols placed a sticker on the windshield for the passing vehicles, while a notice is issued without a fine for a weeklong grace period to fix safety-related defects.
Then, the PSD noted non-complaint drivers must fix defects and visit a licensing, traffic, or highway patrols departments to pass the check.
