Baku, September 26 (QNA) – The State of Qatar took part in the second edition of the Gulf-Azerbaijani Economic Forum, held in Baku on September 25-26 under the theme “Sustainability Investments Partnerships.”
The Qatari delegation was led by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, with participation from officials from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Azerbaijan, as well as business representatives from both sides.
In his speech, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry emphasized the forum’s significance in strengthening trade, economic, and investment relations between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan.
He highlighted opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as food security, renewable energy, industry, logistics, and transportation, which offer investment prospects that support sustainable development and enhance trade exchange.
He also mentioned the close relations between Qatar and Azerbaijan, referring to Qatar’s hosting of the third Arab Economic and Cooperation Forum with Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijan in April, aimed at bolstering economic and trade collaboration.
HE Al Malki discussed Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030), focusing on developing priority sectors like low-carbon metal production and renewable energy.
The forum featured discussions on renewable energy, water and electricity, transportation, and logistics, as well as strategic partnerships between the GCC and Azerbaijan in agriculture, food security, and food industries.
Participants also conducted field visits to economic and industrial zones in Baku and held bilateral meetings between GCC and Azerbaijani businesspeople to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment.
