Red Sea International Film Festival Reveals Line-up for Arab Shorts in Competition

Jeddah, September 21, 2023, SPA — The Red Sea International Film Festival has unveiled the selection of its Arab Shorts in Competition. Now in its third edition, this program features a curated collection of short films that delve into rarely-told narratives, offering insights into people’s lives and places within the Arab World.
This year’s festival, held from November 30 to December 9, 2023, in Jeddah, promises to showcase the best of Arab and International cinema, delivering enthralling, poetic, and entertaining experiences, according to a press release. With a lineup of 11 exceptional Arab short films, the festival celebrates the richness and diversity of Arab storytelling, inviting viewers on an unforgettable journey through the power of film, the press release said.
CEO of Red Sea Film Foundation, Mohammed Al Turki, stressed the festival’s commitment to promoting Arab cinema and film culture in the region and beyond. “With ‘Arab Shorts’, we continue to provide a platform for Arab filmmakers to showcase their work, connecting them with industry experts worldwide,” Al Turki said in a statement.
Director of Arab Programs & Film Classics at the Red Sea International Film Festival Antoine Khalife expressed that ‘Arab Shorts’ showcases the festival’s dedication to supporting and empowering Arab filmmakers in sharing untold stories that explore various aspects of life. Khalife commended the young Arab filmmakers for their “remarkable films, ” exhibiting “exceptional strength and maturity.”
