Amman, June 11 (Petra) — The Spanish government on Wednesday condemned an Israeli drone strike on the offices of the humanitarian group Doctors of the World in Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip, which killed eight people, including four children.
The office coordinates humanitarian interventions funded with support from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation.
“Targeting a building, whose location had previously been reported to Israeli military authorities as a facility of a humanitarian organization that enjoys protection under the international humanitarian law is a potential violation of that law, which the Spanish government completely rejects”, the Spanish government said in a statement.
It demanded an immediate and full resumption of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, urging Israel to enable the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to work independently and neutrally to save lives, alleviate suffering, and protect the dignity of civilians.
