Amman, Aug. 7 (Petra) — The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship announced the completion of a new digital skills curriculum for all school grades, from first to twelfth grade.
In a statement issued Thursday, the ministry said the curriculum was developed under the Youth, Technology, and Jobs project, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the National Center for Curriculum Development, and in collaboration with a national consortium led by Investment World for Development and Technology.
The development process was guided by Jordan’s National Framework for Computer and Digital Skills, international standards, best global practices, a comprehensive review of national documents, and the current Jordanian curriculum. It also drew on findings from a digital labor market gap analysis conducted by the ministry in 2022.
The project produced a fully integrated digital curriculum for grades 7–12 and modern educational activity books for grades 1–6.
Implementation began in grades 7, 9, and 11 in the 2024/2025 academic year, with grades 8, 10, and 12 scheduled for rollout in the 2025/2026 school year.
The curriculum is built around eight key themes essential for digital literacy: computing systems, impacts of computing, networks and the internet, algorithms, data analysis, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity.
The ministry emphasized that this achievement is a core component of Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision and reflects its commitment to equipping students with future-ready digital skills and positioning Jordan as a regional hub for digital education.
