Participates in GCC Finance Undersecretaries Committee Meeting
Muscat,
24 Sep (ONA) – The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 74th meeting of the
Committee of GCC Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance, held today in
Kuwait.
The
Omani delegation was led by Abdullah Salim Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the
Ministry of Finance.
The
undersecretaries discussed several topics, including the outcomes of the
meetings of the Committee of Governors of GCC Central Banks, the management of
the GCC Customs Union Authority, the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax
Administrations in the GCC, and the results of the Gulf Common Market Committee
meeting.
Discussions
also covered updates on the technical status of the GCC free trade agreement
negotiations, the signing and ratification of the GCC payments connectivity
agreement, studies and projects being prepared by the Economic and Development
Affairs Authority office, and the program to achieve GCC economic unity by
2025. Additionally, updates on the decisions of the 123rd meeting of the
Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee were also discussed.
