Amman, October 1 (Petra) — Senator Mahasen Al-Jaghoub, Chair of the Senate’s Youth National Dialogue Committee, took part in the Women Political Leaders (WPL) Summit 2025 in Podgorica, Montenegro.

During the summit’s main session on “Cultural Diplomacy and National Identity,” Al-Jaghoub joined prominent female leaders from across the globe to highlight Jordan’s unique approach to integrating culture and identity into its foreign policy.

She underscored how the Hashemite leadership, guided by His Majesty King Abdullah II, has positioned Jordan as a steadfast voice advocating regional justice and dialogue, while proudly maintaining its cultural heritage and promoting mutual respect.

She emphasized that His Majesty’s speeches at international platforms like the UN and European Parliament have championed values of moderation and justice, reinforcing Jordan’s reputation as a trusted and respected nation.

The Crown Prince’s dynamic leadership was also praised for blending national identity with modern innovation, youth engagement, and volunteerism, breathing new life into Jordan’s cultural narrative.

Al-Jaghoub further highlighted Queen Rania’s global role in redefining the image of Jordanian and Arab women, showcasing Jordan’s cultural and educational achievements through her influential initiatives supporting youth, women, and disadvantaged communities.

She drew attention to Jordan’s iconic heritage sites, Petra, Wadi Rum, Jerash, Umm Qais, and Al-Maghtas, calling them living symbols of the country’s rich history and its cultural message to the world. Their recognition by UNESCO and international bodies continues to elevate Jordan’s global cultural standing.

On the Palestinian issue, Al-Jaghoub condemned the devastating impact of the war in Gaza, which threatens not only lives but also the cultural identity and historical memory of the Palestinian people. She reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering commitment to defending Palestinian rights and safeguarding the holy sites under its custodianship.

Ultimately, she stressed that Jordan’s cultural diplomacy is a core strategic asset, not merely symbolic, and that the country’s moderate, inclusive national identity, coupled with its role as guardian of sacred sites, serves as a powerful tool for peace, dialogue, and sustainable progress.
