Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) The government confirmed on Sunday that the vehicle license plate modifications approved by the Cabinet earlier in the day will apply only to the plates of government vehicles, as well as those belonging to the Lower Houses of Parliament, the Judicial Council, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and diplomatic missions.
It stressed that there will be no changes whatsoever to the specifications of private vehicle plates.
The government explained that the update to the affected plate designs allows the inclusion of the name of the issuing authority in Arabic, in addition to the word “Jordan,” alongside the previously approved abbreviations under which vehicle plates were modified.
