JUST hosts Erasmus+ introductory day for Northern Region

Ramtha, Oct. 27 (Petra) – The National Erasmus+ Office at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized an introductory day for the Erasmus+ program for the Northern Region on Monday.

JUST President Dr. Khalid Al-Salem, joined by EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre Christophe Chatzisavas, former Minister of Health Mahmoud Sheyyab, EU Delegation Representative Mary Horvers, and Erasmus+ Director Ahmed Abu Al-Haija said the event strengthens academic and research cooperation with European institutions and promotes student and researcher exchanges, capacity building, and innovation support.

Dr. Al-Salem described Erasmus+ as a bridge between Jordanian and European universities, inspiring students to gain international experience and develop skills for the global labor market. Ambassador Chatzisavas highlighted the program’s role in fostering international cooperation, cultural understanding, and best-practice exchange.

Abu Al-Haija noted that Erasmus+ has transformed Jordanian higher education, benefiting around 8,000 students and faculty through academic mobility, curriculum development, and over 185 capacity-building projects.

The event included sessions on applying for Erasmus+ projects and academic exchanges and panels showcasing success stories from Jordanian universities, as well as discussions on 2025 higher education priorities under the program.
