Amman, January 6 (Petra) – The Ministry of Agriculture has launched a sheep e-tagging platform in all the Kingdom’s governorates.
In a statement issued Thursday, the ministry announced it has completed all “necessary” procedures to begin the online tagging process nationwide at 47 centers across various regions.
The ministry added that this step follows a pilot campaign that covered all tagging centers in the Kingdom’s governorates.
On its scope, the ministry stated the e-tagging process targets owners of new livestock flocks, which have not previously been electronically tagged, as part of the ministry’s efforts to regulate the Kingdom’s livestock sector and improve “accuracy” of related data.
The ministry urged livestock breeders to register through the ministry’s platform to complete the tagging procedures and visit the agricultural directorates in their respective governorates and districts to obtain instructions and details for the e-tagging mechanism.
