Al-Baqa’a, Nov. 17 (Petra) The director general of the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), Ibrahim Rawashdeh, met Monday with the National Seed Bank team to review key challenges facing scientific research and to examine ongoing projects aimed at preserving plant genetic heritage.
Rawashdeh underscored the importance of investing in innovative research initiatives, particularly those addressing climate change and strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems.
He urged researchers to submit high-quality proposals that make use of funding opportunities offered by local and international donors, as well as the Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund.
Rawashdeh stressed that expanding work on climate-resilient crops, safeguarding genetic resources and improving productivity is central to bolstering national food security and advancing Jordan’s shift toward smarter, more sustainable agriculture.
