New York, Nov. 19 (Petra) The Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution renewing the mandate of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) until June 30, 2029.
The resolution was backed by 144 countries, while 16 abstained. Eleven countries voted against: Israel, the United States, Fiji, Argentina, Micronesia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Palau, Tonga, Paraguay and Papua New Guinea.
