Amman, Nov. 20 (Petra) — The Third International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development opened in Amman on Wednesday under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Ali, with the Bright Minds Academy serving as the organizer.
Sharifa Bodour Bint Abdulilah, Chairwoman of the Academy’s Board of Directors, said the conference aligns with the national initiative that named 2025 the Year of Artificial Intelligence, an announcement she described as a real commitment to transforming institutional performance and integrating modern technologies as an essential engine for development.
She noted that the gathering supports national efforts to implement Jordan’s Digital Transformation Strategy, particularly in raising government employees’ awareness of AI and building a supportive ecosystem for its growth.
The conference opened with a high-level dialogue that brought together presidents of public and private universities to discuss the expanding role of artificial intelligence in driving sustainability within educational institutions and communities.
Participants agreed that AI has shifted from a supporting tool to a strategic partner in shaping a balanced, sustainable future.
Throughout the event, sessions delve into AI’s role in advancing banking operations, boosting sustainable energy solutions, and supporting applications in the oil and gas sector.
Additional discussions cover AI in air transport management, water and crop management, sustainable health, machine learning, and proactive cybersecurity.
