Irbid, Jan 6 (Petra) – About 18,300 residents of Greater Irbid Municipality have benefited from tax exemptions on building and land tax (property tax), education tax, assessment fees and returns, road surpluses, and rents approved by the government.
Head of the Greater Irbid Municipality Committee, Imad Al-Azzam, said the municipality collected a total of JD 3.436 million from these taxes, including JD 2 million from property tax, JD 750,000 from rents, JD 500,000 from organization, paving and compensation fees, and JD 125,000 from road surpluses.
He noted that 530 people benefited from exemptions on rented buildings, while 4,650 cases benefited from exemptions related to road surplus and compensation files.
Al-Azzam added that the revenues collected by the municipality will strengthen its financial position, enabling it to improve service delivery and infrastructure for citizens.
