Session Explores Means of Enhancing Business, Investment Environment in the Sultanate
of Oman

Muscat,
3 Feb 2026 (ONA) — The Oman Business Forum and Partnership with the Private
Sector Office at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion
organized the first session of the “Tejarah Talks” initiative for
2026, titled “International Partnerships that Deliver Results.”

The
session was held on the sidelines of Oman Expo and International Forum at the Oman Convention and Exhibition
Centre.

The
discussion addressed a methodology for tracking the trajectory of challenges by
categorizing partnerships into three primary pillars: regulatory frameworks,
such as Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Comprehensive Economic Partnership
Agreements (CEPAs); market access through distribution and logistics; and
capital and capabilities provided through investors. The session aimed to
examine the role of partnerships in expanding non-oil exports and investments
in the Sultanate of Oman.

The
session further focused on practical aspects related to ensuring market access,
accelerating clearance and certification procedures, enhancing the reliability
of dispute resolution, and developing risk-aware trade finance, ultimately
aiming to agree on a clear implementation mechanism within 12 months.

The
Tejarah Talks initiative is part of an emphasis on the importance of involving
various segments of society in discussing and understanding issues related to
the business and investment environment in the Sultanate of Oman, while
fostering constructive dialogue regarding national economic developments.

The
Tejarah Talks initiative aims to highlight inspiring and untold stories within
the Omani business environment by providing an interactive platform for candid
and constructive discussion on the issues, challenges, and opportunities of the
national economy. This allows for the review of experiences shared by
businessmen and entrepreneurs in the Sultanate of Oman, while discussing
emerging economic challenges and opportunities in the fields of business and
investment.

Additionally,
the initiative seeks to stimulate a culture of innovation and positive
risk-taking within commercial circles, build effective communication bridges
between different generations and business sectors, and enhance the role of
youth and women in the economic landscape. It also encourages forward-thinking
in the fields of technology, the green economy, and creative industries,
contributing to the support of sustainable economic development in the Sultanate
of Oman.

The
second session of Tejarah Talks, titled “Cultural Capital: Transforming
Heritage into Global Impact,” is scheduled to be held on 14 April,
followed by the third session on 22 September, titled “Value Chain
Interaction: Sustainable Growth and Local Opportunities.” The series will
conclude with the fourth and final session, titled “Made in Oman:
Redefining Competitiveness,” on 17 November.
