Baghdad, Feb 9 (Petra) – Iraq’s Civil Defense announced on Monday that one person was killed and six others injured following a large fire at the Salah Al-Din refinery in the north of the country.
According to a statement from the Civil Defense in Salah Al-Din governorate, the fire broke out in the gasoline upgrading unit of the refinery, located approximately 165 kilometers north of Baghdad, resulting in six injuries and one death.
The statement added that Civil Defense teams managed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the refinery, avoiding greater damage. Security agencies have launched a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the fire.
