Amman, Feb 18 (Petra) – At least 38 workers were killed Wednesday in a gas explosion at a lead mine in Plateau State, central Nigeria.
AFP cited Local official Ali Adam Idris as saying that 38 fatalities occurred, and approximately 27 others were transported to nearby hospitals.
A miner at the site stated that the explosion took place between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. local time, confirming the death toll.
