Jordan Search Team Returns After Venezuela Earthquake Mission

Amman, July 12 (Petra) — The Public Security Directorate (PSD)
announced that the Jordan International Search and Rescue Team has
returned home after completing a humanitarian mission in Venezuela,
launched under Royal directives to support relief efforts following
the devastating earthquake that struck Caracas and surrounding areas.

The team returned aboard a Qatari Emiri Air Force (QEAF) C-17
military transport aircraft. The airlift was coordinated with the
Qatari military attaché in Amman as part of Jordanian-Qatari
cooperation in supporting humanitarian and disaster relief
operations.

According to the PSD, the team, comprising highly trained search and
rescue specialists and a medical unit from the Royal Medical
Services, carried out intensive rescue operations in the areas
hardest hit by the earthquake using advanced equipment and
specialized technologies.

During the mission, the team rescued a child alive from beneath the
rubble, recovered the bodies of 35 victims, and provided technical
and humanitarian support alongside Venezuelan rescue teams and
international response agencies, helping strengthen emergency
operations and mitigate the disaster’s impact.

The PSD said Venezuela’s interim president honored the Jordan
International Search and Rescue Team in recognition of its
exceptional humanitarian efforts and outstanding contribution to
search and rescue operations, praising its professionalism, rapid
response, discipline, and adherence to the highest international
standards.

The PSD said the mission reflects the team’s advanced operational
capabilities, extensive expertise, and high state of readiness, which
have enabled it to undertake complex rescue missions in diverse
environments while reinforcing its international standing among the
world’s leading classified search and rescue teams.
