ASEZA holds coordination meeting on trade flow

Aqaba, July 15 (Petra) – Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority
(ASEZA) held a coordination meeting on Wednesday with government
agencies and strategic partners in the transport and logistics sector
to discuss enhancing the flow of trade and supply chains, and
facilitating the movement of domestic and transit trade through
Aqaba.

Participants in the meeting, chaired by ASEZA Chief Commissioner
Shadi Majali, brought together representatives of Aqaba Development
Corporation, Customs Department, Aqaba Ports Management and Operation
Company, Aqaba Container Terminal, Jordan Standards and Metrology
Organization, Jordan Food and Drug Administration, Ayla Cement
Company, Jordan Shipping Agents Association, and General Syndicate
of Customs Clearance and Freight Forwarders.

Majali said ASEZA is keen to enhance partnerships and coordination
among all relevant stakeholders to facilitate trade, reduce
processing times, and enhance the efficiency of logistics services,
positively impacting the business and investment environment in
Aqaba.

The meeting tackled executive measures to expedite handling
operations, streamline inland commercial transport and transit trade
procedures, and remove obstacles that might hinder the smooth flow of
goods to ensure the provision of more efficient and faster services.

Participants stressed the importance of continued coordination and
integration among various stakeholders to promote Aqaba’s
competitiveness as a regional logistics hub, improve the efficiency
of the port system, increase trade and handling activity, and support
supply chains.

Such measures will serve the national economy and reinforce Aqaba as
a key trade gateway for Jordan and the region, they said.
