Amman, July 28 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Tuesday held a
phone conversation with the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

During the call, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed discussed regional
developments, the repercussions of the regional escalation and
efforts aimed at restoring calm and enhancing security and stability.

Calling for pursuing diplomacy and dialogue to resolve the crisis,
the two ministers noted the importance of supporting efforts and
endeavors aimed at ending the escalation and reaching a comprehensive
agreement that addresses all the causes of tension and achieves
regional security and stability.

Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed also discussed the dangerous deterioration
in the occupied Palestinian territories and reiterated their
condemnation of illegal Israeli measures.

The duo said these Isreali actions violate international law and
constitute a dangerous escalation that fuels further tension and
violence and undermines all opportunities for achieving a just and
comprehensive peace.

Both sides also stressed the need for launching concerted regional
and international efforts to compel Israel, the occupying power, to
halt all its violations of international law and international
humanitarian law.

Within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between
the two brotherly countries, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed discussed a
number of regional issues of common interest.
