Amman, Aug. 2 (Petra) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and Egyptian Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty
discussed efforts to end regional escalation on Sunday, emphasizing
the need to support de-escalation initiatives.

In a telephone call, the two ministers stressed the necessity of
relying on dialogue and diplomacy to restore calm based on principles
that address the root causes of tension, guarantee freedom of
navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, and achieve
lasting security and stability.

Safadi and Abdelatty affirmed Jordan and Egypt’s solidarity in facing
shared challenges and noted ongoing joint efforts to foster regional
stability.

The foreign ministers also reviewed developments regarding the
Palestinian cause, underscoring the importance of implementing all
clauses of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan regarding Gaza.

The two ministers warned against illegal Israeli measures that
consolidate occupation in the West Bank and target holy sites in
Jerusalem. They called on the international community to take
effective action to halt these policies and protect regional and
international peace and security from actions pushing the occupied
Palestinian territories toward further instability.
