New Delhi, August 05 (QNA) – The death toll from the floods and heavy rainfall affecting the Indian state of Kerala has risen to 26, while at least 27,000 other people have been evacuated.
Indian media reported that 462 relief camps have been established for those affected by the flooding.
So far, 27,048 people have been impacted, 11 people have been injured, and 4 people remain missing.
This comes as part of the ongoing severe seasonal flooding affecting several regions of India. Kerala has experienced devastating floods caused by heavy rainfall and landslides in mountainous areas. Similar conditions have recurred this year alongside flooding in other states such as Assam and Gujarat, placing continued pressure on infrastructure and disaster management systems in an effort to prevent a repeat of the heavy losses seen in previous years.
