2 women killed, 3 people injured in Israeli raid of West Bank refugee camp

Ramallah, Feb 9 (Petra) — A 21-year-old Palestinian woman was killed and two other people were injured, one seriously, on Sunday in an ongoing Israeli military raid into the Nour Shams refugee camp in the city of Tulkarm in the north of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

The ministry earlier said a 23-year-old woman was killed and her husband critically injured by Israeli occupation forces in the camp.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, Israeli troops inflicted massive destruction during a military campaign in Jenin refugee camp, forcing the displacement of more than 20,000 people, Deputy Governor of Jenin Mansour Saadi said.

What is happening in Jenin and the nearby camp is “a collective punishment” against about 400,000 Palestinians, he said.

In a statement, Saadi appealed to international human rights and legal organizations to make it to the camp and document the scope of the crime, referring to the likelihood of bodies and injured people under the rubble of destroyed homes.
