Aqaba, August 7 (Petra) – The city of Aqaba hosted the 10th Art and Beauty Forum, titled “Jordanian Tales,” organized by the Ayla Society for Culture and Arts.
Attended by Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Shadi Majali, the event saw participation of 80 artists from eight Arab countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Thabet Nabulsi, ASEZA Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs, affirmed the authority’s “commitment” to supporting such “unique” events, which contribute to highlighting Aqaba’s “beauty and its distinguished status as a city that combines history and fabulous scenery.”
Nabulsi added that these factors contribute to strengthening Aqaba’s position as a “tourist and cultural destination” on both the Arab and international levels.
“Jordanian Tales” represents a “vital” platform for documenting Aqaba’s history, civilizations, and deep-rooted traditions, as well as its heritage identity, and conveying them to the world in a creative and humane artistic style, he pointed out.
In turn, the forum’s director, Ali Krishan, called for highlighting Arab creativity in the visual arts field and presenting a true image of Arab culture and civilization.
Krishan noted the forum picked the theme “Jordanian Tales” to shed light on Jordan’s history, civilization, and achievements, adding that the event will host an art exhibition featuring the forum’s works.
To achieve this vision, he stated tours are scheduled to introduce participants to Jordan’s tourist and historical sites, mainly visits to Aqaba Castle, Wadi Rum Reserve, and Petra.
